My name is Alison Church
I started Aire Tax and Business Solutions in November 2023. “Aire” means to take care in Irish, it represents my goal to take care to ensure a high quality of services provided to each of my clients.
I studied accounting at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. After university moved to Ireland and trained with Grant Thornton. I completed my accountancy designation with ACCA Global which is an IFAC approved equivalent to CPA Canada.
My experience over the years in various roles has broadened my knowledge beyond just accounting principles. Through these experiences, I aim to continually improve my service and work hard to help each of my clients.
Marilyn Hicks is one of my main inspirations behind the setup of the business. She very sadly passed away in October 2023.
I previously worked with Marilyn for 4 or 5 tax seasons over the years and she was an amazing friend and mentor.
It was her faith in me that gave me the courage and confidence to start the business. I want to honor her in the work I do and aim to do my best and follow in her footsteps and provide the quality of services expected by her clients.
